Three Reasons Trump Is Blowing it With Some Conservatives (Thu, 21 Jan 2016)
Trump shot way out into the lead early on with me with his comments on securing the border & deporting illegal aliens. If you haven't read my case for supporting Trump, click here. However, he is losing ground with me of late and here is why. 1 - His Support of Ethanol Subsidies I was watching his speech live a few weeks ago from Iowa when he voiced his support for Ethanol subsidies. I cringed as he launched into his support for the corn farmers in Iowa, in what seemed clearly to me to be a pandering move to garner support. It is not a popular position to oppose ethanol, but it is the right position, it is the Conservative position. Ethonal subsidies suck, they drive up food costs, are paid for by my tax dollars and perpetuate crony capitalism. None of which are Conservative positions. I understand his drive to win Iowa, no doubt it could be viewed as pivotal. However, in the last few election cycles the winner of Iowa has had very little impact on the overall race for the Republican nomination. This is blatant pandering to crony capitalism no matter how you look at it. Sacrificing ones principles to garner support is part of the problem that has led to our current state of affairs. The political system is broken and this exemplifies why. I don't like it and it causes concern about how Trump might approach "making deals" as he likes to trumpet (no pun intended). Making deals is good, making good deals is better. Not compromising on certain principles is critical to making good deals that help solve some of this out of control government. If Trump will support ethanol subsidies, what other crony capitalist, big government, free market restricting positions is he willing to support to be popular? 2 - Using Alinsky Tactics to Destroy Ted Cruz This has really ratcheted up the last couple weeks. He is spending more time tearing down Cruz than he is discussing substantive topics that will fix this country. Without Trump in the picture, Cruz is clearly the front runner for Conservatives, and many of Trumps supporters are Conservative. Just speaking for myself, I do not like seeing one of the very few principled candidates attacked relentlessly on what I see as largely phony issues. In fact, he's stooping to liberal lows to twist facts and reality to win. To use Alinsky terms, the ends justify the means. There is nothing principled about these attacks. They suck, they need to stop, and if he keeps it up he will lose my support. Here are a few examples: a - Ted Cruz is not eligible to serve as President due to his birth status. Really? Are we really going to go down that road? Trump is distorting both facts and reality trying to make a non issue the issue. Yes, Cruz was not born on American soil. Precedent indicates this is a non issue, stop the bs and move on. b - Ted Cruz got loans from Goldman Sachs, which proves he is in their back pocket. Ugh. Another non issue. What he did with Goldman Sachs is arms length, perfectly reasonable and shows no indication that he is in the pocket of the fat cats on Wall Street. Please, can we move on? Another non issue trumped up to try and diminish Cruz's Conservative credentials. Again, for Trump, the end justifies the means. Truth, facts or reality be damned. This is very troubling. c - Ted Cruz is a Nasty Guy, Nobody Likes Him. Anybody that has supported Cruz over the years knows exactly who does and doesn't like Cruz, and more importantly, why. We didn't send him to DC to go along and get along. We sent him there to fight for We The People and that is exactly what he has done. He called out Mitch McConnell on the floor of the Senate, calling him a liar - which he is, a weaselly little liar. He has challenged the establishment at every turn and been willing to take the principled position. That is what I like about him, he doesn't need others approval, he doesn't change or compromise his opinions to curry favor. He is willing to stand alone, on his principles, the principles that got him elected. He is more guided by integrity and principles than getting along and cutting deals. Ted Cruz has proven he will stand on his principles and fight for those positions. This is critical if we ever hope to regain any of the ground we have lost to the destructive liberal agenda. If history is a guide, every deal the Republicans have cut has still moved the liberal agenda further down the road. We need someone that will force compromises that move the agenda back toward the Conservative agenda. All of these attacks are distortions of facts and reality that take us away from discussing the important issues, turn off Conservative voters and give the eventual Democrat nominee tremendous ammunition to use against Cruz should he be the eventual Republican nominee. Just picture Hillary's ad quoting Donald Trump saying Cruz is a nasty guy, nobody likes him. Very effective. 3 - Trump Can Make Deals, Work With The Opposition. On its surface one would think this is a good thing. But if you've been paying attention since about 2004, and probably even before that, but that's when it really jumped off the page at me, there is no negotiating with the Democrats. They are dug in on their radical destructive positions and every single "deal" the Republicans have made with them has advanced the liberal agenda. Time after time the Republicans have caved on every position and hurt this country by capitulating to the Democrats. The debt ceiling and budget deals are just 2 examples of the disastrous deals the Republicans have cut with the Democrats. I'm not sure I want the next President cutting deals with Pelosi, Reid and all the other usual suspects. Unless that person has a proven track record of taking the tough positions and standing on principle, forcing the Democrats to come towards our positions, not the other way around. This country needs a negotiator that doesn't require the good old boys approval, that will risk being unpopular with the media and the Democrats in order to advance the Conservative agenda. Because even the slightest nudge in our direction will lead to maniacal wailing and total hysteria by the Democrats and the media. They will scream bloody murder, accuse the Republicans of being terrorists and murderers, racists, wanting to kill minorities and push granny off the cliff. Their tactics are disgusting and it is going to take someone with deeply held principles to stand up to the inevitable attacks. I am not sure Trump has the conviction of Conservative principles needed to weather the storms that will come with attempting even the slightest deviation from the radical liberal agenda. Attacking Cruz as unpopular and a nasty guy is just a flat out lie. In summary, if Trump keeps this up he will lose me. I fully recognize he has said and done many controversial things over the years. I give him somewhat of a pass for a lot of it. My views have evolved over the years so I understand that something he may have said over 15 years ago may not accurately reflect his positions today. I was a bleeding heart liberal for many years when I was younger, that should not marginalize the strongly held Conservative beliefs I hold today. Sadly, I was indoctrinated from a very early age into the liberal mind set. It happens, it's powerful & it is inevitable if as a child you were constantly exposed to the liberal agenda and told Republicans are evil white men that don't care about us little people. Liberals understand how important it is to get to the kids and indoctrinate them. It works, it's powerful and it took years and years of maturation and growth for me to evolve past the automatic, knee jerk beliefs that were laid down into my brain from a very early age. I have been paying very close attention, reading Trump's books, listening to interviews of those closest to him over the years, looking for evidence that either supports or refutes the things he is saying today. I am not acting on emotion, I recognize how critical this election is and it is imperative we get the right person in to have any hope of unraveling all that has been done to us over the years. The picture of Donald Trump that is coming into focus for me looks like this: Trump has had to survive and prosper in a very liberal environment. He's had to be careful about his views if they went against the New York elite establishment. I believe he has for the most part leaned right his entire life from all accounts that I am seeing and hearing, but did not necessarily wear those beliefs on his sleeve. I totally understand this approach. I lived in Seattle until 2009 and was very protective of my Conservative views and cautious about how strongly I voiced them, or if I voiced them at all. When you're trying to negotiate in the corporate world you can't rub your beliefs in everyone's face and then expect that they won't take that into consideration. It sucks but liberals can be very intolerant and if you are doing business with one it is very likely that they will hold your beliefs against you if those beliefs are not in agreement with theirs. I don't think Trump could have built the empire that he built if he was vocal about any Conservative positions he has held. It would have cost him dearly. I'm not justifying it, I'm just saying it exists and is a harsh fact of the world we live in today. Just look how people are responding to him now that he is basically out of the closet with his views. England is considering banning him, Telemundo backed out of a very lucrative contract with him to name just a couple recent events. Speaking to Conservatism is going to cost Trump dearly financially. I don't feel sorry for him I'm just pointing out that fact. If he doesn't win the nomination, when he goes back to his business he will find a much cooler reception in some of the social circles he is accustomed to running in. So, he held some of his personal beliefs close to his vest as a New York businessman. I understand that. I'm not buying that he is a bleeding heart liberal because he gave money to Hillary Clinton. As a businessman he did what he felt was needed to help his business and to help him be successful. I do not fault him for that. He also contributed to many Republicans, so only telling part of that story is misleading. But I do see him as more of a "Rockefeller Republican" in that he may compromise core Conservative principles to get along if necessary. And that's not okay. I still have several weeks to evaluate both he and Cruz, and my mind is not yet made up. But if Trump keeps up the constant negative attacks on Cruz, and doesn't get into the serious issues that need to be discussed, that will push me into the Cruz camp. I have been leaning Trump since his bold border comments, but am just about split as of right now due to his tactics the last couple weeks with Cruz.

Four Reasons to Vote For Trump (Fri, 15 Jan 2016)
Four very simple reasons why I would vote for Donald Trump: 1 - I am Angry Nikki Haley did Donald Trump a tremendous favor Wednesday night with her lecture to Americans about how we shouldn't be angry. Simply put, if you're not angry then you may not fully understand the magnitude of what has occurred since Obama took office. His actions have been horrendously destructive to this nation. Trump summed it up very well with his response to her last night. See the video below for his entire response. I have been furious at our government since February 2009 when they rammed through the $482 billion Omnibus along with the $787 billion stimulus. Remember that? That was $1,269 Trillion in wasteful spending. I would like to see a full accounting of exactly where that money went. Click here for a list of the grievances I had from just his first 2 years in office. I haven't bothered to add to it, but am sure the totality all lined up on one list would be staggering. The staggering actions since then have only added fuel to my anger. Anger that is now pointed at both sides. The last couple years have made it painfully clear the Republicans have no intention of fighting for Conservative causes. Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan are a disgrace to the Republican Party. In fact the Republican Party is a disgrace. Trump is the only one willing to own the anger, he does not back down from the media and establishment bullies that are so accustomed to silencing anyone who steps out of line. I wouldn't tolerate it and neither does he, and I like that, a lot. Bullies piss me off and the left is nothing short of a party of bullies. Were you ever picked on by a bully as a kid? Well I was, I was the smallest kid in my middle school and the school bully loved to push me around. One day I'd had enough and when he gave me a shove I turned around and clocked him right in the nose. Problem solved, he never bothered me again. Lesson learned, bullies are often just paper tigers and rely primarily on intimidation. Trump has popped the bullies bubble, nothing they do or say works. Trump owns what he says and he shoves it right back in there faces. And have you noticed? It works. They whine and flail and then move on once they realize their intimidation tactics are ineffective. 2 - Build a Damn Wall Already! I did not give Trump a second thought about him as a possible Presidential candidate at first. In fact, I recall conversations I had with a friend of mine about Trump during the 2012 election cycle. He was a fan of Trump's and thought he would make a great President. I scoffed, and told him I thought he was crazy. And then he said it. Donald Trump had the guts to say what I have been saying for years. He said he will build a wall, not a fence, a wall. It will be big and it will be beautiful. He said it and he has owned it ever since. The media and political establishment has attacked him relentlessly with their mocking, shaming and name calling. And guess what, he hasn't flinched one single inch. Want to know why? Refer to item 1 above. It was like finally, after years of madness listening to candidates and politicians dance around the issue. Why won't they just do what is good for America? That leads to item #3. 3 - Nobody Owns Trump It was an incredible moment of realization, like waking up from a trance. It all suddenly made sense. All the crazy sidestepping, parsing of words by politicians that supposedly agreed with me. Those that have been saying for years that we need to solve the border problem, yet nothing changes. The realization is that all of those politicians are owned by someone with different priorities than those of us that want to save America. The big money donors are all open borders guys, they are about profit, not patriotism. After that realization all of the candidates lies, distortions and mincing of words became crystal clear to me. Remember when Governor Walker dropped out shortly after flip flopping on the issue, and nobody on the Republican side dares mention building a wall. Got that? Nobody. Except Trump, the lone voice of sanity and patriotism on the right. I know that will draw ire from all the Cruz, Rubio, et al fans, but I implore all of you to let go of your preconceived attachments to them, as I have done, and realize all of them answer to big money donors, without exception. That is a sobering reality. The system is broken folks and Trump has exposed it for what it is, a big show to try and convince us that they will do what we want them to do once elected. They won't. Just look at what the House and Senate has done since Conservatives gave them the majority in both Chambers in 2014. Nothing, they're all talk, no action. Why? Big money donors. They may do some of the things but they absolutely will not build a wall and they absolutely will not act on my final point below. 4 - Deport, Deport, Deport Once again, nobody on the right even has the guts to say we need to deport. Zero, nadda, no one. Got it? I hope so. Do you think deportation is feasible as I do? Do you believe that all we need to do is begin enforcing current immigration laws and illegals will start leaving on their own? Do you go crazy listening to the mantra that it just isn't realistic, that you can't break up families, that it's just un American to not roll out the red carpet for all those that break our laws, violate our national sovereignty, disrespect our flag and then rub our noses in it? They are not assimilating, they feel entitled and they know it pisses you and I off - patriotic Americans. And they rub our noses in it. They are reducing our standard of living by driving down wages, filling up our jails, perpetuating unspeakable violence on innocent Americans and flipping us off if we have a problem with it. In fact, we are the racists for challenging the status quo. Bottom line, the status quo is rapidly destroying American culture. Well, I've had it and once again, the only one with the guts to say it is Donald Trump. That's it, 4 very simple reasons to give Donald Trump serious consideration for the highest office in the land. All you skeptics that think he is lying, that think he is a big time liberal, that think he's not serious, think about this for just a moment. He's the only one with the guts to say it - and is taking tremendous flack for it from every side. Does it make sense that he would take that much grief if he didn't believe what he was saying and intend to follow through. Also, the fact he is even willing to say it provides at a minimum the possibility that it might get done. Nobody else is even making it a possibility because they know they would lose their big money donors if they did. So with every other candidate there is zero chance of deportation, zero chance of getting a wall built. Got it? Zero, forget the lies. Forget the parsed word promises. Zero. So, I'll take the possibility of getting those things done with Trump, over the certainty that they most definitely will not get done under every other candidate. Simply put, Trump got my attention when he said that he will build a wall and deport, and he hasn't backed off since. That's it and that's all. I have become a single issue voter. Our country is being absolutely destroyed, and even more, our culture is being destroyed, & illegal immigration is one of the biggest factors. Like Trump said from the very beginning, "either we have a country or we don't have a country." A vote for Trump and we have the possibility of the former, a vote for anybody else and we have the certainty of the latter. The choice is yours. Lastly, for the record, I waited patiently for 4 years to cast my vote for Ted Cruz. I live in Texas, I watched up close his battle with the entrenched establishment candidate who had all the money in the world and Cruz only had 2% of the vote. He won the hearts and minds of Texans with his conservative principles, his sharp mind and a proven track record. He would make a great President if Trump doesn't win. But make no mistake about it, a wall will not get built and illegals will not get deported. The illegal immigration madness will continue to some degree. So, as of right now I am giving Trump the benefit of the doubt and rooting for him, and will continue to back him as long as he continues to show he is for real and holds his ground against the ruling class and the corrupt media. Read his books, listen to people that have known him for decades. He's for real folks, his heart is in this for America. He loves this country and he hates what is being done to it by the ruling class. Something we should all be able to relate to.

DC Lobbyists Cheer Boehner's War on Tea Party (Sun, 15 Dec 2013)
"According to The Hill, lobbyists were "pleasantly surprised by" Boehner's "strident remarks" last week in which he said Tea Party groups have lost "all credibility" after they opposed the budget compromise that increased taxes. Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin said Boehner's words were a declaration of war on grassroots conservatives."  Click here for article Speaker Boehner's attack on the Tea Party is incomprehensible given it is that very group of Americans that gave him his speakership in 2010. Make no mistake, this is a calculated move, Progressive Republicans seem to be operating from the radical Alinsky playbook. By joining the Communists of the Democratic Party in marginalizing Conservative Americans, establishment Republicans in DC are joining forces to further Obama's radical transformation of America. Specifically, up next is the push to award amnesty to over 10 million illegal immigrants, assuring the complete destruction of America. However, in so doing, he has also revealed his true position. There can be no denying his loyalty to the established way of doing business in DC, to going along to get along, to helping push America further down the road to ruin. Anything that he says to attempt to placate Conservatives should be ignored, he is what he is and needs to be dealt with accordingly. Just as Alisnky rules have worked to further the radical agenda of the radical Communists, and now the Progressive Republicans, it is also working against them. As Rules for Radicals tactic #13 explains, pick the target, freeze and polarize it.That is what Boehner is doing. The effect is to destroy the targets credibility and therefore minimize its power. However, this rule also says that when a target is attacked all of the "others" come out of hiding in defense of the target. Well, the opposite is true as well, just look at all of the "others" that have come out in defense of and support of Boehner's attacks. That's right, we know who our enemies are, the question is how to defeat them.

Obama Administration Weighs Visa For Alleged War Criminal (Tue, 17 Sep 2013)
"The Obama administration is stuck with the unenviable task of deciding whether to give a visa to an African dictator who's been accused of war crimes. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf confirmed Monday that Sudanese President Omar Bashir has applied for a visa to attend the opening of the UN General Assembly in New York this month. Bashir has been accused of genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity for his role in Darfur and other conflicts by the international criminal court, which has issued a warrant for his arrest." Click here for article Call me crazy, but this doesn't seem like a tough call to me. Why is it that liberals have such a hard time responding to evil, yet have no problem with their relentless persecution of fair and decent human beings that simply disagree with them? For example, juxtapose this so-called dilemma with another decision the Obama administration was forced to make not too long ago: Obama Administration Denies Asylum For German Homeschool Family: "Today the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the Obama Administration's denial of asylum granted to Uwe and Hannelore Romeike and their six children. The Romeikes fled Germany in 2008 when they were subjected to criminal prosecution for homeschooling. In Bissingen, district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg , they faced exorbitant fines, forcible removal of their children, and possible imprisonment all for homeschooling their children." Click here for article Request for asylum DENIED! It is against the law to homeschool your children in Germany. The Socialist government needs to be certain that all of that country's children are subjected to the same radical progressive indoctrination. Traditional values have no place in their culture. Sound familiar? Yes, I've warned on more than one occassion that similar laws are coming soon to America if we don't wake up and learn how to fight back. The Obama administration has no problem making this decision, but the decision to issue a visa to an accused genocidal maniac. Well, that's a tough call. Does any of this make sense? No, of course not. The Obama administration and his radical minions cannot allow even the slightest advancement of anything that is not in line with their extreme, progressive views. And homeschooling Christians is about as extreme as you can get with these folks. However, they appear to be sympathetic to genocidal maniacs. More bizzaro-world, all day, every day.

Egypt Bans Mosque Preachers In Crackdown On Islamists (Tue, 10 Sep 2013)
"CAIRO (Reuters) - Egyptian authorities will bar 55,000 unlicensed clerics from preaching in mosques in the latest move against sympathizers of deposed Islamist President Mohamed Mursi, the minister of religious endowments said on Tuesday." Click here for article It was just a couple months ago that Eqypt's military acted in its nations interest of self-preservation and acted upon millions of its citizens calls for reform, and to stop dead in its tracks the spreading radicalism being waged by the then President elect Morsi. The people of Egypt may have elected the radical head of the Muslim Brotherhood into office, but they wasted no time once they became witness to his unilateral actions to turn their country into an Islamic state. The military wisely stepped in and took control, ousting Morsi, and sending the radical Muslim extremist elements on the run and into hiding. While the MB & other extremists are attempting to fight back, and against the wishes of our Radical-Muslim-Extremist-Sympathizer-In-Chief President Obama, the people of Egypt and its military press forward undeterred, committed to re-establishing the rule of law and a government that is at least somewhat in-line with the civilized world. In other words, they woke up once they saw what Morsi and his radical minions were trying to accomplish, and the Egyptian military set out to stop it in its tracks. And this latest action of banning Mosque Preachers is just one more example of how far ahead a country like Eqypt is compared to America when it comes to recognizing and dealing with the enemy of our modern world - Radical Islam. Good for them, not so good for us. No, here in America we witness the daily madness of the pathologically delusional left as it justifies everything that is bad and wrong in this world, and seeks to destroy any chance of solving any of it. No military intervention for us to depose our radical leader, no media calling the radicals out for their daily destruction of our culture and way of life, no meaningful push back from a progressive Republican Party that has given in to the temptations of power and become an all to willing accomplice to the daily advancements of the radical progressive agenda. No, instead of banning preachers in mosques we are allowing proponents of radical Islam to erect a monument to their destruction on 9/11/01. Rather than calling the MB a terror group, Obama has invited them into his inner circles and is propping them up every chance he gets both here in America and around the world. No, rather than promote Western values, Judeo-Christian values, they work tirelessly to ban any and all references to Jesus Christ and our Christian God from the public arena, while simultaneously doing everything they can to promote the teachings of Islam. Sound crazy? Yep, just another day in 'Merica.

State Department Denounces 'Enemies of Islam' (Sun, 11 Aug 2013)
"The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the cowardly attacks... in Baghdad. These attacks were aimed at families celebrating the Eid al-Fitr holiday that marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The terrorists who committed these acts are enemies of Islam and a shared enemy of the United States, Iraq, and the international community." Click here for article Not only is this a stronger response than the Obama administration gave after the Benghazi attacks, it also shows no hesitation to refer to the recent attacks as terrorism. We know who their friends and enemies are, and it is painfully obvious to me that the Obama administration has complete contempt for America and complete devotion to all things Muslim/Islam.
